TAXIS (Taipei) – Taxis in Taipei are numerous, and they are a very flexible way to get around. Fares starts at NT$70 (more in smaller cities), and a short trip to or from the nearest MRT stop is unlikely to cost much more than NT$100. Especially if you have a few people, or are just under time pressure (or suffering from heatstroke), taxis are great for short hops around Taipei.
Not all taxi drivers speak English, therefore you should ask the hotel staff to write your destination in Chinese or you should have a map at hand to show where you want to go.
