The watch tower-shaped building, built during the Japanese occupation era, is a glimpse into the architectural style of the Japanese Empire at its peak. The museum also actively promotes Taiwan’s domestic artists and invests in public education and collection management works. There are 4 permanent exhibitions and usually some additional ones that run for a few months at a time. The building itself is large and very impressive.
