Museum of Contemporary Art Taipei (No.39, ChangAn West Rd. Taipei) — since its inauguration in 2001, the museum (known locally as “MOCA Taipei”) has combined its historical architecture with contemporary art, entwining yesterday’s memories with today’s culture and introducing the most innovative and avant-garde visual aesthetics, media technologies, architectural design, and fashion from Taiwan and overseas. At the same time, MOCA Taipei continuously promotes artistic education and encourages the community to regard the aesthetics of everyday life.

Uniquely positioned as an exhibition and performance space housed in a historical building, MOCA Taipei connects cultural history with contemporary art. The museum separates its exhibitions into six categories: annual exhibitions, MOCA Studio, MOCA Plaza, MOCA Studio – Underground, Window of Citizen Art, and Interactive TV Wall. Each exhibition held by MOCA Taipei utilizes multidisciplinary creative forms and concepts to establish a professional collaboration opportunity between artists, curators, and critics from Taiwan and overseas. As result, the exhibitions expand with their multifaceted form the cultural perspectives of globalization and localization.

Admission: NT$50 (general), free for seniors, children under 6, and unemployed. Hours: 10:00 am – 6:00 pm (Tuesday – Sunday), closed on Mondays, open on national holidays.
